Don't worry, it gets
worse. What my bosses and co-workers don't even know yet, is that my skin care
consists of a $5 cleanser and a $4 moisturizer from Target. As I continue
interning here, I'm starting to feel a little bad about how I treat my
skin.
Now before I get in some
sort of trouble, I have to start fixing up my skin care routine- and pretty
drastically. So here's a little about my skin care and lifestyle. As I said
before, I am a college student; hence, the super cheap product. I have class
about 20 hours a week and intern about 20 hours additionally. The remaining time is
dedicated to homework and occasionally, I'll slip in a little social time or
exercise. I live in a house of four girls, and let’s just say, bathroom
time can be pretty slim. I'm definitely not a morning person, yet still find
myself staying up well past midnight most nights, only to wake up looking like
a zombie the next morning. I eat pretty basic- a bagel in the morning,
sandwich for lunch, and whatever is easiest to make when I'm home for dinner.
All in all, I lead a pretty typical college-student life.
And as for my skin? It's
really dry. Once these cold Wisconsin winters hit, my face is flaky and feels
completely dehydrated. I'm also extremely fair-skinned. Thanks to my strong
Irish background, it's impossible for me to get even a hint of tan. Ever. And when I'm outside too long, the sunburn sure isn't shy to show. I also
get those random breakouts. As a 20-year old, I've certainly not escaped
the adolescent acne and I see it especially around my nose,
mouth, and chin- most likely a direct result of resting my chin in my hand, which gets me through the majority of my 8 am classes.
So after admitting to
all of you, and myself, that I have--let’s just say less than perfect-- skin I
have decided to have a free skin consultation next week with Enza’s
Skin Expert, Deb. From here, I will begin using the system that best fits my skin type and any additional
products she suggests to me. From there, I will be sharing with you my journey.
What it’s like, any differences I see in my skin, if it’s worth it, and my
overall, honest thoughts and opinions. My skin: revealed.
Along my journey, please
comment with any questions or concerns you have!
